Example Project 3 (Support for high density outfit design)
G-SU-ENT: G-SU is a design firm, that provides ship’s outfitdesign for high density outfit ships, to 3 main heavy industry producers in South Korea (Hyundai, Samsung, and Daewoo)
- There are many differences for division of basic design, detailed design, and production design between Japan and South Korea.
- There are surplus of labour resource in South Korea, but the language barrier (including barrier of technical terms) prevents entrance to the job.
- G-SU specializes in design/modeling service to create 2D and 3D shapes, using KP information (such as PN-ID/DN-ID). Our goal is to overcome the barriers mentioned in no.2, and provide more efficient design services to Japanese shipyards.
Example Project 4 (Using design resource from India)
VEDAM: Vedam has many young naval architects and AutoCAD/Ship 3D-CAD operators, who have all received CFD/FEM bachelor level education equal to the Japanese standard of naval architect education. (Total 70 employees)
- Most of the Indian design firms market their services by emphasizing on their reduced cost. Dubai and Singapore have firms that offer high price and high quality service, with the same resource.
- Marine Next has been working with Vedam for many years, and is also accustomed to Indian culture and society. Therefore, we are aware of the pros and cons of hiring Indian design offices.
- Marine Next is planning to use Vedam as an intermediary service for digitalization and CAD conversion of past design data.
To work with Indian firms, Japanese side is required to take care of the retention tax, by Japan-India protocol for income tax.
